What's a profile?
A contour is a recorded performance with a fixed length and dynamic shape. For example, a 1-bar crescendo of waves leads to a 1-bar crescendo with a bow in the middle.

String Contours allows you to play these performances and change notes seamlessly without triggering a new performance. You always remain in the dynamic shape and phrasing of the initial performance. This results in authentic and appropriate vibrato as well as dynamic flow without any MIDI CC programming, resulting in high-quality results and a more minimalist approach to composition due to the expressiveness of the recording itself.

Different recordings, different tempos
Since the performance of a phrase depends heavily on its context, especially in terms of length and tempo, we want to introduce this context into the world of virtual instruments.

Each contour is recorded at multiple speeds (3 different tempos) and shapes (4 different dynamic shapes) to preserve the contextualization of the live performance of each part and the consistency of the entire collection.Kontakt automatically selects the correct pool of samples based on the speed of the host sequencer and seamlessly adjusts as the speed changes. Time tension is kept to an absolute minimum, so it's virtually inaudible. We spent a lot of time finding the right amount of tempi, which needed to be recorded for optimal results.

One exception is the "Normale Espressivo" patches in the library, which only record at a very fast speed of 140, but still - these patches are also synchronized with the DAW host speed.

The hall is medium ambient size for a cinematic sound but still retaining as much detail as possible.
