Adagio Cellos is the third volume in our series of complete updates, keeping these timeless samples up to date with a host of features from our Century and Anthology series. This update includes our new intuitive user interface, articulation browser, integrated mixing, and of course, our signature chaos effects.

The latest Adagio Cellos features an advanced articulation browser that allows you to create your own matrix of playing styles. Now you can easily balance each articulation and assign your own controls to each style. The new features are designed to improve your workflow, so whether you need a single articulation or a range of different playing styles, Adagio lets you load exactly what you need.

In the most recent update, we eliminated polyrhythms and reworked the 12 rythms into a variety of delicate, layered rythms patches that adapt smoothly as you play. The intensity of each of the triggered legato styles depends on the speed at which you play.

The Adagio series was recorded in a lush church setting and contains three main cello virtuoso groups; full ensemble (6 players), small ensemble or chamber music (3 players) and soloists (1 player). Each section was recorded in great detail; we sampled a large number of articulations, including 12 unique legato types with up to 3 loop repetitions, a wide range of short notes, a range of sordino (mute) options, and a range of custom-designed atmospheres.

We've updated Adagio with 2 different legato types, each with up to 3 response layers and 3 loop repeats.Legato I is made from our Agitato Strings, inspired by the soaring melodic styles of Williams and Mancini, and is designed to sit in yourorchestral musicThe Legato II comes from our first recording of the Adagio, and has a smoother, less pronounced sound that's perfect for multi-purpose string compositions.

Adagio has been redesigned so that every iconic and expressive instrument is instantly professional-sounding right out of the box. A fully customizable articulation matrix gives you direct access to any articulation Adagio offers. We also provide individual patches for each joint, so you can customize the instrument to best fit your workflow.

We recorded Adagio Strings with a large number of professionally placed microphones, allowing us to best capture each ensemble. We created 3 separate mixes to give you great flexibility in how your ensemble sounds (mix, close, far). Mixed mic positions provide the perfect combination of close and far views for a perfectly balanced sound.

In this most recent update, we have scrapped multis and reworked the 12 legatos into various refined, layered legato patches that fluidly adapt as you play them. Each intensity of legato style being triggered dependant on the velocity that you play.
