Built by sound designers, for sound designers, Whoosh FX is an easy-to-grasp and powerful tool for generating a wide range of motion, wind, and whistling effects. You can set the duration, customize 3 separate layers that contain a rich variety of noise and texture sounds in categories such as air, electrical, fire metal, orchestral, water, wind, and more, as well as choose an envelope preset or draw with your mouse, add motion, Doppler effects, transform sounds with a distorted vowel filter, and add studio-grade effects including convolvers, digital equalizers, delays, IR reverbs, Limiter, and more.Whoosh FX offers a wealth of features and a clear, intuitive interface that makes it easy to generate a wide range of sound effects, from synchronized sounds for motion graphics, TV, and movies, to rich, dynamic soundbeds for music and environmental applications.
At the heart of Whoosh FX are 3 sound sources: Noise, Texture 1 and Texture 2. These 3 sources are fully configurable, with separate envelopes for controlling amplitude and filters (located in the center of the user interface), multi-mode filters, stereo position, tilt, pitch, and volume controls to help you create a wide variety of sounds quickly.
The Noise layer contains 11 synthesized noises to choose from, including Ribbon Noise, S+H Noise, Purple Noise, Blue Noise, White Noise, Pink Noise, Brown Noise, Lorentzian Noise, Rossler Noise, Logic Noise, and Sine Noise. Meanwhile, Texture 1 and Texture 2 layers add a variety of specialized field recordings and synthesized sound sources created specifically for Whoosh FX. Sounds are organized by category, including Air, Distortion, Electric, Fire, Effect, Material, Metal, Motor, Noise, Orchestral, Rock, Glitter, Synthesizer, Water, and Wind, and can be independently pitch-adjusted by +/- 24 semitones.
Each layer can have a unique filter mode (LP, Comb, or HP) and cutoff frequency, and all layers can be edited individually or simultaneously. Select the Sources tab at the bottom and you'll find controls for Noise and Texture types, as well as layer-specific parameters such as Pan, Skew, Pitch and Width. Textures 1 and 2 both include Randomize and Undo buttons, so it's easy to get random inspiration and quickly go back when you're out of range.
