Soniccouture Balinese Gamelan II v2.1.0 KONTAKT- 13,02 GB

The Ultimate Collection Soniccouture's Balinese Gamelan II is a gem for composers. It features two full orchestras playing what is undoubtedly the most authentic and comprehensive sampling of Gamelan music on the market today.

Whether playing an instrument alone or as a whole ensemble, veteran musicians or first-time newcomers are in complete control of Gamelan's notes.

Over 30 different instruments were recorded in depth to capture Gamelan's living, breathing tone and dynamics:
- Semaradana Gamelan Orchestra (London Symphony Orchestra, UK)
- Gamelan Batel Ramayana Ensemble (Toronto)

"Cinematic Resonance

The pulsing, resonant tones of Bali Gamelan II are capable of bringing an unsettling atmosphere to unexpected scenes.

One of our favorite examples of this is in the third episode of Season 4 of Desperado. Composer Dave Porter is a longtime user of our instruments.

Gamelan gongs and jegogs emit a disconcerting trill in the background as Walter White gazes into his secret laboratory.

Gamelan Culture

The Gamelan is a combination of musical instruments that originated in Indonesia. Most Gamelan instruments are percussion instruments and most are made of bronze. They include xylophone-like metal instruments of different sizes and pitches, tuned brass bells, very large gongs, and a variety of drums and percussion instruments. There are many types of Gamelan ensembles, but the two dominant types are Javanese and Balinese. The Balinese kameran has a signature "shimmering" sound, which is due to the fine tuning of pairs of instruments playing the same section.

Although Gamelan music is centuries old (there is evidence of musical instruments as early as 800 AD), it is still an active form of music in Indonesia and is gaining popularity in the West. Styles continue to evolve and new forms of gamelan music are emerging. The Balinese "Gong Kebyar", a particularly ornate style, dominated for most of the centuries, and is probably the most famous form of Balinese export music.

Gamelan music places great emphasis on the collective, and has been described as "a negotiation between musicians". Many musicians play intertwined parts in which two instruments alternate playing the same notes. This technique allows the orchestra to play very fast sections.
