Silk is a virtual simulationsynthesizersplug-in (software component), dedicated to a single waveform:
Sawtooth wave, which is one of the most used and common waveforms for creating sounds using subtractive analog and virtual analog synthesis.

The Silk has two sawtooth wave oscillators, each of which produces 7 combined sounds in unison.
These parts of this "multisaw" can be expanded and mixed to produce a very rich, transparent and bright sound with many interesting harmonics. An additional noise oscillator can add some noise.

These oscillators form the core of Silk's sound. The sound is then shaped by filters. In addition to the classic low, high and bandpass filters often used in subtractive synthesis, Silk has a resonant peak filter that produces a speech-like sound.

Combined with a flexible modulation matrix, creamy chorus, stereo delay and reverb effects, Silk's sound can be used for all types of electronic music.
