Two years after releasing Jade Folk Orchestra, we returned to Beijing, China with co-producer Seth Tsui to create a virtual collection of instruments that pushes the boundaries of evolving instrumental performance. The result of that journey is Jade Evolutions.

Jade Evolutions is not a sample library in the traditional sense of multiple samples, dynamic layers and looping methods. We record highly expressive performances of every part of traditional folk orchestral music as well as vocal ensembles. The emphasis is on musicality, something that cannot be achieved with the multisample method. If you want instant, cutting-edge sound effects that go far beyond what can be achieved with the Ethnic Virtual Instruments series, Jade Evolutions is your new secret weapon.

Based on our experience with Syllabuilder and the X3M engine, we have developed a brand new engine that uses Native Instruments' Kontakt sampler to give you intuitive access to these performances while combining them with custom electronic sounds recorded from hardware synthesizers Modern cinematic sounds. At the heart of Jade Evolutions is the XY Pad, which allows you to freely morph and mix between the 4 zones of a mapped instrumental performance, and to freely layer in electronic sound sources.

Each zone can be customized and shaped to your liking. Create your own presets and arrangements using 215 instrument sources and 47 electronic sources. Save them and tag them for future productions, or use one of our 256 presets as the basis for your own exploration of uncharted territory.

Jade Evolutions contains 20 GB of instrumental performances. The following instrumental categories have been recorded:
