This new DAW is different from many others you may have seen on the market - BlockHead is an experimental audio production program in development for music production and sound design. It has some unique features, innovative interaction modes, and it records everything you do! The Alpha version of Blockhead is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

New feature: "Quick Find"
-Press ENTER to open the search box to search for content.
-Press Ctrl+N to select the next item in the search results and Ctrl+P to select the previous item. Or you can use the arrow keys.

You can currently search:
-named block
-Example of a marker block
-Samples currently loaded in the project
-Blink plug-ins (effects, samplers and synthesizers)
-CLAP plug-ins (but selecting them currently does nothing)
-Update: The visual effect when playing scrubs has been changed to be less uncomfortable for light-sensitive users (please let me know of any other similar cases.)
-Bugfix: Crash when reassigning samples to a sampler block to which no samples were previously assigned.
-Bug Fix: Crash when recreating a macro from a dragged block selection.
-Bugfix: Possible crash when creating manipulators from the parameter context menu.
-Bug fix: Feedback loop detection was incorrect.
-Bug fix: "Error: Queue size out of reasonable range" occurs when triggering many bake operations.
-Bug fix: Visual jittery effect of dragging/stamping blocks when zooming in and out.
-Bug fix: Clicking the browser button when the browser is fully shrunk sometimes does not open the browser.
-Bug fix: Workspace map could not be hidden.
-Bug Fix: The CPU load indicator visually fails when the CPU utilization exceeds 100%.

-Update: If libblockhead fails to load for some reason, it should now display an error screen with some platform-specific information about why this might be happening, rather than just the usual reported
-crashes/hangs on the home screen.
-Bug fix: The "Focus Hover Block" action is completely broken.
-Bugfix: When closing the loop on a meta block, the playhead would not exit the loop area.
-Bugfix: Undo does not apply to the Thermal Swap Block plugin.
-Bug fix: The "Plugin Info" popup widget appeared on a blinking effect block that had no information to display.
Bug fix: "Smooth Transitions" could not be re-opened after closing for a block.
-Bug fix: new popup blocks were not sized correctly.
-Bug fix: Block context menu checkmarks were related to whether "Smooth Transitions" was enabled or not.
-Bug Fix: There were several other minor issues with the interaction between "Smooth Transitions" and bouncing.
-Bug fix: visual issue with block selection.
