Bass Sampled to Destruction
Welcome to The Basstard, an instrument focused on recording the gradual destruction of full-size orchestral basses. The library contains four core sound categories: "Tones", "Percussion", "FX" and "Rhythms".

The Tone category covers traditional multi-sampling techniques such as plucking, staccato, rubber mallets on the strings, regular drumsticks on the strings, forks on the strings, and other tools that can be used for tone sampling. The Percussion category contains a variety of heavy loop-based runs that play the instrument like a drum kit (containing 6-10 looped runs.) The FX category has a number of gruesome effects, such as bowing a bass with a baseball bat, using a drill on the strings from which to record sustains, and actually power-drilling the bass and reconfiguring the instrument by separating the neck from the nut and essentially reassembling the instrument in a gruesome way! The The [Groove] category contains unique tempo-synchronized grooves recorded at multiple core speeds (80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140).

The result is a deeply sampled instrument that pushes the concept of orchestral bass into a darker, tougher, percussive and disturbing territory.
