Vintage goodness, DSP perfection.
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Nintendo 64 (N64), and the original Sony PlayStation (PSX) are home to some of the most popular video game soundtracks of all time. Their programmers had to use clever tricks and strategies to create rich reverbs on very limited hardware, using special algorithms, filters and delays designed to take up as little CPU as possible.
✓Super Nintendo.
Classic SNES delays. Choose from dozens of presets that bring you the sounds of some of the most iconic SNES franchises like Mario, Mega Man X, Donkey Kong Country, and Final Fantasy, and adjust the intensity you want with time, feedback, and channel controls. For even more control, enter SNES Geek mode and use the slider to control the FIR setting, the element that defines the sound of many iconic SNES soundtracks and songs.
✓ PlayStation .
Nine classic reverbs from PSX, each with its own unique characteristics: room, small studio, medium studio, large studio, hall, space echo, echo, delay and half echo. Use the Size, Feedback, Damping and Width controls to get the reverb just right for your mix.
✓ Nintendo 64.
Nintendo's 64-bit mighty machine doesn't have reverb per se. Instead, it offers building blocks that developers use to create their own reverbs.
Three modes are provided for this purpose. Mode 1 is a delay line reverb used by many first party EAD games such as Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. Mode 2 utilizes a comb filter to recreate the reverb of over 100 classic games, including Mario Party 3, Nintendo Star Smash, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Bear's Adventure, and Star Cappy 64: The Crystal Shard. The third mode is exclusive to GameVerb and runs two classic modes in tandem. Tweak presets or create your own sounds using the Time, Feedback, Damping and Comb Out controls. You can also enter N64 Geek Mode and edit comb filter parameters down to the last detail.

Bring more dust and grit to your sound by lowering the sample rate or using one of the five modes of the Bit Rate Reduction filter. The BRR filters were initially only available on the SNES, but we globalized them so you can use them with PSX and N64 reverbs as well.
Use the separate (but linkable) wet/dry controls to control how much the sound is affected, and color it using the pre-low-pass and post-low-pass filters.
Create with love.
The team behind GameVerb grew up playing games on all three consoles. Do we need to include every obscure quirk and parameter of these brilliant systems? No. But we did it anyway.
