Creative Extensions, a collaboration between Ableton and Amazing Noises, is a collection of eight tools designed to enhance and extend the impact, color, and texture achievable with Live. The collection includes new methods for pitch shifting and sequencing melodies and delays, creative and distinctive studio processing, devices for creating ethereal, reverb-like spaces, and two improved Max for Live synthesizers.

Melodic Steps is a fast and intuitive MIDI sequencer that creates ever-changing melodies with just a few mouse clicks. Use it to create fast melodic changes, polyrhythmic melodies or simply randomize your results. Its interface is designed for play and encourages experimentation and new discoveries.

pitch hack (computing)

The Pitch Hack is a one-stop shop for all kinds of Pitch-related effects.At the heart of the Pitch Hack is a single delay line with chromatic and pitch-split pitch-shift controls. In addition to adjusting the pitch of the input signal in real time, the Pitch Hack inverts the audio, randomizes the pitch shift interval and collapses the delay signal back into the delay line.

[Gated Delay] Creates a sequence delay effect. The Gated Sequencer sends the incoming signal to the delay line on the activated step. This is like a send effect that turns on and off at a defined tempo synchronized to the music.

The controls allow you to adjust the length and rate of the step, as well as whether a dry signal can be heard on a deactivated step, the ratio of delay rate to step rate, step randomization, feedback, and more.

Color Limiter

Color Limiter offers another style of limiting inspired by the hardy sound achievable with hardware limiters. Provides controls for input level (loudness), threshold (upper limit), look-ahead, release, and most importantly the saturation and color parameters that are key to its characteristic sound.

Re-Enveloper Repackaging

The Re-Enveloper is a multi-band envelope processor. The input signal is first divided into three adjustable frequency bands. Unlike a compressor, its signal envelope can be compressed or expanded.

The C/E (Compression / Expansion) Factor knob provides detailed dynamic control. With a positive value, the envelope is compressed. With a negative value, the envelope expands.

spectral blur

Spectral Blur creates sounds and textures that are best described as reverb-like. A user-defined frequency range of the signal is blurred to produce dense clouds of sound. This device is ideal for crisp filtering effects with narrow bandwidths, or for spreading sound across the entire spectrum.

The Halo control is used to adjust the length of the blur particles. The [Residual] parameter is used to adjust the level of the unprocessed signal. Finally, the Freeze button holds the affected signal until the button is turned off.

Color Limiter offers another flavor of limiting inspired by the gritty sounds achievable with hardware limiters. Controls are provided for input level ( Loudness), threshold (Ceiling), Lookahead, Release and the all-important Saturation and Color parameters that are the key to its characterful sound.
