How does time affect sound? Can sound exist without time? Can a single note have a rhythm? This compilation answers these questions with an unusual orchestra that seems to disrupt the passage of time.

A medium-sized orchestra and choir combine to create unique shifting textures - clearly rooted in organic sound, but drifting unknowingly into the ether. Advanced articulations and dynamic gestures add nuance and movement. TIME Macros feature full parts, 10 separate ensembles and evocative "Chrono Structures" for immediate inspiration. Essential for all types of contemporary soundtracks and perfect for scoring and sound design.

Unique Chrono Structures
Examining time in a musical context, we layered sounds to create complex orchestral textures we call Chrono Structures. they are divided into two groups: Time Orchestra and Altered Time.

The Time Orchestra section provides layered instruments that play sustain. Each carefully constructed patch is its own sound world with undulating detail in response to the modulation wheel.

In the Altered Time section, the sustain has layers of instruments that move forward and backward and can be slowed down or sped up. The effect is mesmerizing, suspending the normal passage of time.

10-instrument ensemble, 3 full parts
We recorded 10 medium-sized orchestral ensembles including strings, woodwinds and brass, as well as double reeds, harp and vibraphone, and female and male choirs. All ensembles play sustain, advanced articulation, and dynamic gestures, so you can easily layer sounds.

For a broader sound, the TIME macro also provides full parts for strings, woodwinds and choir. These parts also play sustains that correspond to the articulations in the rest of the ensemble, so everything blends together perfectly.

Recording at Teldex
All instruments are carefully sampled in the famous Teldex Studoi main room in Berlin, and you can blend these sounds seamlessly with the rest of your Orchestral Tools library.

We captured everything with 4 mic positions: a spot mic for close-ups, a Decca tree for classic Teldex sounds, an extra A/B mic for clarity, and some surround mics for air and space.
