Using the same compression engine as the APU Loudness Compressor, APU Dynamics Optimizer takes measurements based on the complete audio waveform, rather than real-time signal analysis measurements, so users can carefully optimize the gain envelope over the entire waveform.

The APU Dynamics Optimizer can target specific average LUFS and dynamic range very precisely, and after optimizing the gain envelope, the user can use the compressor toplug-in (software component)The same set of parameters plays back the results in real time and adjusts the characteristics of the sound.

When an audio file is opened for the first time, APU Dynamics Optimizer will analyze the audio file's volume timeline and then get a pair of histograms. On the left is the current volume distribution of the audio file and on the right is the target distribution. The optimizer's task is to dynamically compress and expand the audio through the entire audio file to match the target distribution.

Next the user can adjust the source percentile to exclude unwanted audio information during the optimization process. By default, the percentile is set to match the LUFS LRA standard, better capturing the main part of the audio.

Once the user has completed the optimization, they can play back the results in real time using the same set of parameters as the Compressor plug-in and adjust the characteristics of the sound. The Play/Stop button and Find slider can be used to navigate through the audio while any adjustments are being made, and once satisfied, the optimized audio can be exported as a new file.

APU Dynamics Optimizer's export files always use the same sample rate as the original audio, using a 32-bit floating point waveform format to ensure the highest possible audio quality. The format also supports more than 0dBFS to ensure that clipping does not occur, and the user can also choose whether to use the built-in limiter when monitoring and exporting.
