The Shreddage 3 Hydra unites all the knowledge we at Impact Soundworks have accumulated over a decade of virtual guitar creation. It's the perfect embodiment of the uncompromising, highest quality 8-string guitar we have in mind. Our in-house quality requirements were so high that we recorded the entire set of samples three times in our quest for perfect performance and tone.

Now that it's finally finished, you can enjoy the ultimate rock and metal virtual guitar in your music.

We chose the low-to-low E-tuned "Iron Label" RGIF8 for the guitar, with Fishman Fluence Tosin Abasi signature pickups. These pickups put the Shreddage 3 Hydra at the top of its class, even compared to our other instruments. Not only do they have a unique and usable tone (neck pickup vs. bridge pickup position), but their clarity and low noise level are unmatched. The sustain on some open strings can be heard for over 40 seconds!

Thanks to exhaustive sampling of all the useful playing techniques, dynamic ranges, RR changes and layers, Hydra gives you all the tools you need to create amazing guitar tracks. Once you've mastered the right writing techniques (see our 'Masterclass' series of tutorials on YouTube), you'll be able to produce rhythm parts, chords and lead melodies that sound and are realistic enough to be amazing.

This guitar is naturally well suited for rock and metal music, especially heavy sub-genres and progressive style variants. But as you can hear from our walk-through video and demo, its clean tone is equally impressive. The clarity and sustain of the pickups make the Hydra an excellent choice for any type of 'gaze' style music.

Console Modular FX Racks and Mixing Consoles

Console is our new mixing desk, modular effects rack and pedalboard designed to give you complete control over the tone of your virtual guitar. Unlike our previous FX rack, which was limited to a handful of preset modules, Console offers 30 effects modules to choose from!

These include a wide range of equalizers (digital and analog styles), compressors, spatial effects, modulation effects, amplifiers, distortion pedals, reverbs, and more than 30 custom amps IR recorded specifically for Shreddage 3. These amps cover all the most important sounds you could possibly want, including dynamic and condenser mics recorded in multiple positions, as well as ribbon mics on some models! .

Using Console, you can easily save and load FX chains or presets between projects, even between different Shreddage 3 products. It also allows you to mix and blend between guitar pickups, and add custom insert effects to each pickup if you wish.

Total Articulation Control Technology (TACT) 3.0

Shreddage 3 Hydra includes an updated version of TACT that allows you to customize how all your playing techniques are mapped and triggered! Everyone has their own virtual guitar playing or writing preferences, and with TACT you can create the perfect setup in your DAW.
