CSS has a Hollywood-inspired string section recorded on Trackdown, Australia's premier soundtrack stage. You'll be instantly inspired, from the soaring, colorful vibrato of the soprano violin to the dark and woody textures of the bass cello and contrabass. Our goal was to create an instrument that is ready to play right out of the box, backed by fast customer support.

At the heart of CSS is its cutting-edge GUI, which builds on our previously acclaimed library Cinematic Strings 2. That means a short but sweet patch list, easily assignable keyswitches and MIDI CCs, and a full mixer with output routing options and reverb. These and many other features are accessible through the main GUI page, and you'll have CSS working with you on your latest project in minutes.

CSS has a very realistic legato engine. We painstakingly recorded realistic legato transitions for every note, including beautiful glissandos. We also recorded "re-bow" samples, which means you can play repeated legato notes smoothly and with true legato realism. For more information, check out the Legato profile!

With smooth legato, powerful piccolo, inspiring weaving harmonies and con sordino, CSS covers the broad sound palette offered by a world-class string section. We've retained an authentic human element in the sound, so you'll feel like you're in a live session. With this new realism, you'll feel comfortable using CSS without reverb, in fact we recommend it! All of our demos are created without reverb - all you hear is the natural air captured in the sample.

We use a nice variety of ribbon and condenser microphones to record CSS at three distances, and you can combine them to create your own unique mixes, either inside Kontakt or via the newly included output routing options. Or, if you want great sounds with fewer resources, you can use all 3 of our premix combinations.The Full and Lite Ensemble patches optimize the workflow and are great for sketching or filling tracks.
