Fission A is a new library for Kontakt 6 and is inspired by works of Hildur Guðnadóttir and specially her soundtrack for the outstanding HBO serie Chernobyl. This library is created together with the Fission B library for Omnisphere 2. Both use the same soundsources, but are meant to be complimentary.
Ever since watching the first minutes of the Chernobyl serie I was drawn to its sound universe and I started recording and creating sounds for a project inspired by this. Now a few months further this has resulted in the Fission A and B libraries. I created 200 soundsources from recordings of an old cello, a bassoon, some flutes, a few bass guitars, a piano, from my guitars, from field recordings and sounds that I created within various synths. I mangled all the sounds to create a dark atmosphere.

TEXTROBOT is a NI Kontakt instrument designed to help you in the design of UI sounds and to produce retriggered samples for VFX text animations.

WHAT IS NEW IN STRING CONTOURS 2
The library contains a selection of the most elusive contemporary string sounds, only before heard in live recorded scores. Like Polybend Legato, Temposynced Bends and slow connected Detaches. These are not your typical one shot performances, but highly playable and adaptable patches that allow you to blend these techniques into your compositions seamlessly and write completely original arrangements using these playing techniques.
WHAT STAYS THE SAME
– Perform expressive phrases while freely changing notes. The original dynamic flow and natural vibrato progression adapt and are preserved – without intensive MIDI CC programming.
– Our non layered approach captures the transparency of a real recorded performance. No artificial “stacked” ensemble sound— a three-note chord with a cello sounds like three celli performing together.
– Different tempi require different performance styles, which are automatically selected by each patch
– Time Signature Support – The sample pool gets adjusted by the Time Signature in your sequencer
TEMPOSYNCED BENDS AND POLYBEND LEGATO
Our industry-first temposynched bends and polybend legato in multiple speeds allow you to perform seamless expressive lines that sync to your sequencer, as well as polyphonic contrapuntal portamento with moving inner lines, in real time. No more artificial pitch bending. We recorded all intervals upward and downward within an octave in sections, and within a fifth in solos.
TEMPOSYNCED SLOW DETACHE
Temposynced Slow Detache with 6 different rhythms, covering 2 separate styles of expression, a softer more tucked in performance and a second, more broad, connected and expressive style. The patches automatically sync to your project tempo and allow you to program flowing patterns, designed to flow between the inputted notes and between the recorded patterns and expressive styles. They work best at slower tempos around 80 BPM.
INVERTED CONTOURS AND ESPRESSIVOS
Highly requested by users of the original String Contours, these new bowings bring heightened dynamic impact to the concept. The Inverted Contours reverse the dynamic shape of the classic patches starting with a fortepiano attack that swells into a dramatic crescendo.
The Espressivos are captured in three distinct tempi and four dynamic shapes, consistent with the approach in String Contours 1, but with a more intense, expressive character.
TRANSPARENT AND NATURAL RECORDINGS
The recordings were done using only handpicked musicians best fit for the required aesthetic in tone and vibrato, as well as custom microphone arrays summed down to 3 different mic positions and a fully produced out of the box mixed signal. The hall is of ambient medium size to get a cinematic sound, but still retain as much details as possible.

Born beyond studio walls
Roadtrip Percussion is an exhilarating sample library born beyond the studio walls. Our globe-trotting escapade led us to a treasure trove of captivating found sounds. We unleashed our creative fury on massive containers, colossal wine vats, Italian church bells, majestic pipe organs, and the echoing subways of Milan. Unearthing joy in unexpected places, we played with kiddie xylophones, glockenspiels, and an antique toy piano within a colossal warehouse. Venturing into tunnels, we pounded rocks and wood, unleashed thunderous door slams, and immortalized the clang of metal tools inside parking garages.
A California odyssey awaited, capturing multiple grand wind chime sculptures and venturing to Minnesota to sample the enchanting Japanese Ohara peace bell. The quest took us back to California’s haunting oil town turned ghost town, where we resonated with big old oil tanks, machinery, shipping containers, and huge wine vats. And yes, we couldn’t resist embarking on the quintessential road trip experience, without recording a car and SUV. Our vaults revealed a special gem: the legendary metal playground slide used in the iconic score for Invader Zim more than 20 years ago!
A world of found sounds
Once the fieldwork wrapped up, we dived into chopping, editing, and manipulating the sounds, resulting in a sensational collection of processed patches. The library is divided between authentic raw sounds and processed and affected. From the raw material, we created some amazing big combo trailer hits, processed hits, pads, braams, affected tonal patches, and tons of loops.
