The FlavourMTC follows the classic "passive" equalizer design, where the EQ circuitry itself does not amplify the signal, but a dedicated amplifier stage handles it. These EQ designs are known for allowing very transparent frequency variations, and their amplifier designs do often add to this.
FlavourMTC achieves this by utilizing a first-order shelving filter design that avoids unwanted resonance and utilizes "zero delay" to achieve the most accurate higher-order filtering without introducing curve distortions around the Nyquist frequency.
plug-in (software component)The output amplifier stage can be calibrated to a specific mix level, providing a unique "boxy tone" and binding everything together. The parts of the plug-in are internally oversampled for maximum transparency and sound quality.
