Unique Controls
In addition to the "standard" reverb controls you know and love, the KSMR Reverb includes several special function panels: the Volume Manager, the Tone Manager, and Special Effects. These features help shape the reverb tail in a unique way. In this way, your original signal can be strongly impacted, and the reverb effect can then be surgically shaped to give a controlled and silky ambience (or more powerful effects if you prefer).
Volume Manager
The Volume Manager, with its attenuation, fade and gating functions, is the easiest way to create a reverb tail. Set a Decay Threshold level to lower the reverb signal whenever the original signal volume exceeds the threshold. Then set the fade time for a smooth tail fade. When the reverb signal falls below the threshold level, the Threshold Controller mutes the reverb signal completely, thus eliminating the nasty tails that wreak havoc in the audio.
Tone Manager
Handling audio with frequent chord changes and long reverb tails can be challenging. The Tone Manager removes harsh attacks from the reverb signal and enhances the tonal effect. Tone Reset is another valuable tool that restarts the reverb each time a new transient is detected, making chord bleed-over a thing of the past.
special effect
Reverse mode continuously boosts the volume of the reverb tail until a new transient is detected. You can also dial in an extra harmonic octave to thicken the tone. This processing sounds great on synthesizers and vocals.
Beyond Conventional Reverb
You know how the standard controls for reverb work, right? KSHMR Reverb includes all the controls you're already familiar with (and more). Use the Diffusion, Width, Length and Size parameters to set size and presence. The Modulation control brings a whole new character to the signal, making subtle changes to the processing. The DeEsser is a very useful control; it's a turntable for removing unwanted sibilance from the reverb tail.
six-node equalizer
With 6 fully customizable nodes and 5 shapes, it's easy to fine-tune the frequency of the reverb tail to get the sound you want. Whether you want a smooth, natural decay or a more edgy, pronounced feel, it's easy to customize the reverb tail for every application.
visual feedback
KSHMR reverbs are based on vector graphics with a resizable interface. The real-time visualization of the Threshold and Equalizer displays show exactly what happens to the signal in real time as it passes through the plug-in stages. This enables precise monitoring, equalizer and threshold settings at each step of the chain.
preset
A number of presets are included in the plugin, so it's easy to find the ideal starting point for your reverb explorations. The presets are named and categorized for use in a wide variety of different audio applications and include a wide range of reverb effects, from subtle shaping to ethereal space to hard gated backbeats.
