Hybrid Studio Taiko offers a fresh take on a classic instrument. Long a part of movie soundtracks and trailers, the taiko is rich in tone and epic in style.

We wanted to focus on taiko in a very action-oriented way, bringing you the amazing sound of taiko, but in a tight, compact and impactful way, rather than the booming, trailing sound that is common in most taiko libraries.

We worked with two global taiko experts: Isaku Kageyama and Rannoch Purcell (Taiko Zentrum Deutschland). We recorded customized ensembles of 30-inch, 18-inch, 16-inch, Bachi, Chappas, and Atarigane, and then also recorded several solo drums, including three 30-inch Odaiko, two 18-inch Chudaiko, two 16-inch Chudaiko, a 10-inch prototype, and a Shimedaiko. Most of the drums are recorded with center hits, off-center hits and side hits with 10 loops and 4 intensity layers. This gives you the ultimate in realistic playing.

To delve further down the action-centered rabbit hole, we extracted each sample and created a hybrid version, with synthesizer and distortion layers for extra grit and punch. The interface allows you to mix regular Studio recordings with Hybrid samples as you see fit, giving you complete control over shaping the sound.Hybrid

Studio Taiko (HST) offers 4 types of Kontakt (6.7+) instrument for use with the Free Kontakt player. It is also fully NKS-compatible, giving you full control of all parameters from an NKS-compatible keyboard.

- Global high-pass and low-pass filters, plate reverb and hall reverb control
- Global "wreck" knob for extra power, grit, and compression.
