We've all been there: you skim through hundreds of kicks and none of them really work. One has a great transient, another has a cool hit to the face, and a third has the perfect booming tail. But once you layer them, the result is a feeble mess: layering kicks rarely works.

ChopSuey is the solution: instead of layering, elements are sequenced. This approach eliminates phasing issues while allowing the combined kick to maintain crisp transients, body impact, and characteristic tailing.

What you see is what you get.
Shaping a kick using a compressor, saturator, or transient designer can be a tedious task. These tools affect the entire kick, so it is not possible to simply edit transients without affecting the body. The range of maneuverability is small and your options are very limited. With Chop Suey, you can see what you are doing at all times. Since the first few milliseconds of the kick are critical to perception, you can visually stretch this area for fine editing.

Surgical precision editing
You can use curves to shape sounds with surgical precision. This allows you to edit exactly what and where you want to shape the sound. Editing transients will not affect impact or tail.
