Shake is a comprehensive collection of 95 sandballs, tambourines, rattles and bells from around the world. This deep and stylistically extensive sample library focuses on the dynamic live percussion performances of British instrumentalist and media composer David Oliver.

Shake has everything you need for your next creation, including miniature soft plastic and rawhide egg-shaped sandballs, stuffed ping-pong ball rattles, rawhide, plastic, and wooden sandballs, as well as small and medium-sized musical instruments made from natural materials such as reeds, seedpods, gourds, vines, canes, coconuts, nut shells, bamboo, wood, and metal. Handpicked from his large collection of highly recordable instruments, these sandballs sound the most dynamic and practical. He recorded all of these instruments many times, slicing the extended playing into optimal 2-bar seamless loops, with beat numbers 3-4, 4-4, 5-4, 6-8, and 7-8, spaced at 20bpm from 80bpm to 140bpm, and the entire set of maracas patterned in 4-4, with rhythms from 160bpm to 280bpm.

The built-in Loop Browser lets you filter your search by style and instrument keywords, tempo and beat number, and you can even asterisk your favorite loops for instant recall. After loading loops into the Slot Grid, you can adjust each loop as a separate transient slice and automate sequencing using playback direction, slice order, ADSR, and custom stepping for volume, pitch, pan, filter cutoff, and resonance parameters that you can draw freely with your mouse.

Working from his studio in Somerset, UK, he has an intuitive creative approach which first brought him to the attention of multi-award winning composer William Goodchild in 2012. David went on to create a rhythm ensemble recording for William Goodchild for the National Geographic wildlife documentary The Ultimate Honey Badger. It was a fruitful first collaboration and in 2014 garnered the highest number of views of any program of its kind in the history of the National Geographic Channel (EarthTouchNews.com, Jan. 9, 2014) It was the start of a series of award-winning collaborations with Goodchild, notably Giant Killer Africa (BBC Natural World 2015) and Jago: Life Underwater (James Morgan Films, co-directed by James Reed, 2015) - winner of the Jackson Hole Grand Teton Award and Wildscreen Panda Award 2016.
