More powerful dynamic control
In the PRO version, both the Compressor and Limiter have been upgraded with variable release times and linking options. The Limiter also gets a new Modern/Classic switch, while the Compressor now features a variable ratio control, a CLIPPER option, and a new "GLUE" function for analog-style compression, which holds the mix together before it enters the final mastering chain.

More Tone Options
The simple tone stack of the original bx_masterdesk is now complemented by a full-featured 3-band parametric equalizer in the PRO version. There are also high-pass, low-pass and dual-resonance filters as well as an on-board De-Esser - all with an extended frequency range. Want more tonal control? Take advantage of the newly included XL section for additional saturation, harmonics and color.

More impressive stereo soundstage
In addition to the Mono-Maker, which focuses low-frequency content for focused and powerful bass, and the Stereo Width Control, which extends the stereo range for a more immersive feel, the PRO version of Masterdesk adds new stereo enhancement modes not previously available in the plug-in. The new M/S features include a mid-signal panorama option and a stereo boost knob for better control of stereo imaging and balance.

One thing hasn't changed: the upgraded bx_masterdesk PRO is still so easy to learn that even inexperienced producers can quickly dial in great-sounding masters in under a minute. It's still just a matter of switching between carefully crafted presets to get you into the right range, and then using the 3-key dial to further spruce things up: "Volume", "Base" and "Tone Volume", "Base" and "Tone". The only difference is that now you can further optimize these starting points and have the option to better control dynamics, EQ curves, saturation and stereo field when needed. Try using them for mastering, mix buses and even instrument subgroups.

It's so cool that people are clarifying this. tcd strongly believes that R2R appreciates this clarification as well. Also, those who present their versions in the TCD Plugin Coalition thread giving bad and incorrect advice should probably avoid doing so, it's in the best interest of the community. These TCD versions had thick protective layers that have been removed by the Plugin Alliance. R2R's version is very slow by comparison, and it's not their fault. They are actually responsible for the layers that were removed after the release. So suggesting using their version at this point is a bad suggestion, as opposed to making scanning and loading suffer dramatically.
