HoRNet Tape is a software simulation of the effects of magnetic tape on the signals recorded on it.
Tape was the recording medium of choice before the advent of digitization in the early 90s, and it had a unique effect that helped define the sound of music from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
What HoRNet Tape does is apply the apparent saturation of tape to your tracks and add the specific frequency response of four different popular tape machines, each with two different speeds of 15 or 30 inches per second.
Tape saturation works differently in the high and low frequencies, saturating faster in the highs and providing a special "shush" to drums and vocals, while the lows become thicker and add weight, which combined with the non-linear frequency response of the tape deck creates a classic vintage sound.
The HoRNet Tape Emulation Plug-in also allows you to change the bias applied to the tape, which changes the saturation characteristics and allows you to add effects.
The tape deck simulation includes playing the typical frequency response given by the head and the internal electronic saturation, the frequency response change mainly affects the low frequency part of the spectrum and moves upwards to increase the tape speed from 15 IPS to 30 IPS, we did not exclude wow and flutter from our simulation because it is almost non-existent on professional tape machines.
Thanks to our Auto Gain technology, we've made it possible for Tape to automatically set its input gain and help you more easily locate your "recording level," allowing you to choose between +1, +2, or +3 VU, with constant level monitoring compensated for by outputs that allow you to judge the effect without being confused by variations in loudness. constant level monitoring by output compensation allows you to judge effects without being confused by changes in loudness.
Because plugins like this are only useful if you can tell how it affects the full mix, we've added a grouping feature that lets you automatically copy some settings (such as deck type, target input level, bypass, etc.) to each instance of a plugin set to the same group. Up to 8 groups can be used.

HoRNet Tape emulation plugin allows you also to change the bias applied to the tape changing the saturation characteristics and allowing you to increase the effect of the tape. the effect.
