Icebreaker Audio Akebono Collection KONTAKT| 4 June 2024 | 444 MB
The Akebono (direct translation: "dawn") Koto Synth was probably released in the mid-1980s. Detailed information in English is scarce, as it was never intended for use by Western musicians. It used a combination of samples and digital synthesis to reproduce many of the traditional sounds of Japanese instruments.Designed primarily as a Koto practice instrument, the Akebono used buttons instead of piano keys, and featured joysticks for pitch and volume adjustments, as well as speakers built into the carrying case.
What's included
15 instruments, including plucked strings, percussion and wind instruments
Plucked string and wind instruments both use key switches to simulate the articulation buttons on the original hardware
Percussion mapping mimics the original hardware, making it easier to play repetitive patterns on the same drums
4 different effects: Tape, Equalizer, Modulation (Chorus) and Echo
Select mono or polyphonic mode
The speaker's 7 mic positions utilize rare Thuresson CM402 and direct line output samples. You can choose direct, speaker or a mix of both!
Kontakt 6.4.2 or later
impulse response
In order to fully reproduce the true sound of this unique instrument, several impulse responses of the loudspeaker were recorded at various microphone positions and configurations. A rare Thuresson CM402 microphone was used for the recordings, and the custom-designed Kontakt interface has a total of seven microphone configurations/positions to choose from. Instrument samples were recorded from the direct line output. You can choose to use the direct signal, the speaker signal, or a mix of both.
