Optigan® Archives Vol. 1 is a one-of-a-kind looping and keyboardingsampleCompilation album, taken directly from the original Optigan/Orchestron Studios mastering reels. This is the only licensed product containing directly sourced Optigan® masteredsource material (in literature and art). The samples are provided in .wav format, along with the corresponding Native Instruments KontaktProgram.

Although Optigan® always presents a low fidelity sound quality due to the limitations of its optical track technology, the original master tapes retain a high fidelity sound quality that shows the music as it really is.

The Optigan® master reels are a vast treasure trove of music, featuring a large number of musical elements from the early 1970s, covering a wide range of styles that were popular at the time. However, only a small portion of this collection ended up on commercially available Optigan® discs. This first series of compilations focuses on this select material and its associated unreleased footage. Future collections will be devoted entirely to unreleased material - those precious gems that have never appeared on any Optigan® disc.
