We are proud to introduce you to our first product for theKontaktPlatform drum set - LDW 1973. a vintage Ludwig drum set incorporating Zildjian cymbals to bring a classic 70's sound to your music production.

### Recording Technology

Drum kits are recorded using the renowned Glyn Johns recording technique, which uses four microphones to ensure the best possible sound from each drum piece. Each drum piece is recorded by mixing the signals from all four microphones into a single sample for optimal sound balance.

### Workflow

This approach, while not allowing for individual control of each microphone in post-processing, greatly simplifies the workflow as each drum piece has a separate mix controller, allowing you to quickly adjust the overall tone of the drum kit.

### Dynamic and Cyclic

All drum parts were sampled in 7 rounds of loops, with the number of dynamic layers varying depending on the drum part - for example, the snare drum has 7 dynamic layers, the bottom drum has 6 layers, and the tom-tom has 5 layers - in an effort to achieve the perfect balance between instrument size, natural sound, and efficient workflow.

### Sound processing

In addition to the mixed signal from the four microphones, each sample is processed through an external hardware reverb unit (Bricasti M7), which we call a "room" and has dedicated control knobs. The Room effect can be mixed with the original signal for each drum part individually, or applied globally to the entire kit, adding a sense of realism and life to the drum sound.

We present you our first drums for Kontakt.

LDW 1973 is a vintage Ludwig kit combined with Zildijan cymbals.

Kit is recorded with 4 microphones using famous Glyn Johns technique.
Each kit element has a specific blend of all four mics exported in a single sample, to get
the best possible element sound.

This means that you cannot control each mic per element separately in processing.
This approach has limitations but gives you extremely fast workflow, because you have a mixer
with a fader per element.
In short, this approach gives you the most optimal and efficient workflow with quick results.

All elements are sampled in 7 round robins.
Dynamic layers vary, depending on element.

For example, snare has 7 dynamic layers, kick has 6 and toms have 5.
We tried to reach the perfect balance between instrument size, natural sound and effective
workflow.

Except these 4 mics blended into a single sample, each sample has been sent to external hardware
reverb unit (Bricasti M7).
You can add this layer of sound within our interface.
We call this "ROOM" in our interface, and it has dedicated control knob.

Room can be blended with original signal for each kit element separately, OR globally, for entire kit.
Adding room brings drum sound to life, adding an extra dimension of realism.
