Steven Slate arrived in Hollywood 18 years ago with a CD of his own recorded drum set, and released the Steven Slate Drums product when he heard his sound on the radio hotlist. Soon 10 years later, at NAMM 2018 we saw his latest product, Steven Slate Drums.

Steven Slate Drums 5 has been completely redesigned, including a brand new interface, tons of new user-requested features, a new groove player with more than 1,000 new rhythmic grooves, and more than 50 deluxe instrumental sounds for real drum kits.

Takes up 2044.8MB of memory after loading.

The sound is still good for rock & pop!

This drum set doesn't require a login account or anything. There are three download files provided on the official website: the sampling zip, the installation tool to extract the zip to a specific directory, and the vstplug-in (software component)Installation Program.
Unzipped samples can be read directly no matter where you put them, as long as the VST plugin is installed.
Also comes with some loops.
And, the sampling feature of the vst plugin allows you to read your own tone samples, for example, you can punch yourself and record it as a base drum, and slap yourself and record it as a snare drum.
The Tone Editor also allows you to adjust various parameters, such as the head start time decay time, etc.
Although it's a free tone, there's not a single microphone that should be on the individual drum parts.
And importantly the interface is really nice looking compared to SSD4.
