Red Means Recording All The Breaks + Mega Drum Machines WAV | 14 May 2024 | 1.28 GB
Yesterday I had a class where we were breaking down the beat of a song from the Tyler the Creator album and quickly realized that the main drum beat was an Allen Toussaint breakbeat sample from an old album. Because I had this break in my collection, we got relatively close to the sound of the Tyler beat relatively quickly and we discussed the importance of samples in production.
Both packs contain knowledge. This knowledge is the kind of sound you'll find all over the place in decades of production.Breakbeats have been used in countless ways in countless different genres, they are part of the DNA of electronic music. And all drum machines have their own unique sound and place in the production vocabulary.
It's very important for you to have those resources and have them ingrained in your mind so that when you hear something you can say, "Oh, I'm pretty sure I can break with that" or "Oh, that's DMX tom, I have that! ".
Production does not exist in a vacuum. It has its own language. These samples are part of that language. I hope they help you.
