BLASS Tides washes away the dry, boring echoes of traditional delay processors with wave after wave of characteristic reflections.
ought toplug-in (software component)A fluid approach to delay processing means that delay times can be varied without the unpleasantly distorted results produced by other delay processors, with the option of controlled tape-based timing offsets, or simple crossfades between delays of different times.
Even better, with the enhanced modulation system provided by BLASS' latest plug-in technology, you can take full advantage of this delay time fluidity to explore new horizons of exciting delay effects using stereo LFOs, envelope followers, and macro controllers.
Creating unique and captivating delay lines is more than just timing, so BLASS Tides offers many different ways to shape and add repetitive character.
Input filters combining low-pass and high-pass resonance bands make it easy to shape the input signal and thus the resulting echo. Then, for even deeper and more exciting shaping, Tides' Feedback Path features five insert points where any of 11 different effects processors can be loaded. These include distortion, filters, pitch and frequency offsets, ring modulation, and even an additional delay processor, all of which can be realized via the plug-in's stereo modulator.
Tides is the first plugin to use the BLASS v2 plugin engine, and its redesigned interface design provides a clear and clean look for the plugin, while retaining the familiar and welcoming look and feel of previous BLASS plugins.
The new interface is as easy to use on a touchscreen as it is on a mouse and includes innovative interactive elements such as Tides' Delay Visualizer, which produces a captivating interactive frequency shift effect when clicked with a mouse or touched with a finger. Further real-time interactions come in the form of momentary freeze and abort buttons, perfect for creating spontaneous, organic effects on stage, on the go, or in the studio.
BLASS Tides' unique approach takes delay processing to a new level, with unprecedented stereo effects and modulation, extensive tone shaping, and a beautiful and easy-to-use user interface.
Latency tab
The Delay tab of the BLASS Tides plug-in allows the user to apply low-pass and high-pass filtering to the input signal, visualize incoming and repeating sounds in spectral form while interactively changing frequencies, and adjust delay time, inertia, ping-pong effects, feedback, and dry/wet balance, with the option of freezing or eliminating the delayed signal.
Feedback FX tab
The Feedback tab provides five slots for processing feedback signals from BLASS Tides. The effects of these processors accumulate over successive repetitions.
Click on a slot to open the processor list, then click on the processor name to assign it to that slot. Use the Power button to enable or disable a loaded processor, then simply drag it to a new slot to relocate it. Note that only one of each processor can be plugged in.
Available processors include:
routing pane
Each modulator of BLASS Tides can be routed to up to 4 target parameters. The details of each route are controlled by the modulator's routing panel. This panel works the same way for each modulator.
LFO Labeling
BLASS Tides features three LFOs (Low Frequency Oscillators) for creating repetitive cyclic modulations.
Envelope Follower TABS
BLASS Tides includes two envelope follower modulators that generate envelope curves based on transients in the input signal.
1. Run the patched .vst3 file once in any DAW
(The license file is created on your computer even if your DAW is offline).2. Run the original installer (removing patched files if necessary).
This allows you to use unpatched binaries.
Note: You can update the new version for free.
If BLASS changes the authentication method in the future, simply block 0.0.0.1 www.bleass.me in the hosts file or block DAW in the firmware.
