Built on the robust Kontakt Engine, Shadow Drones provides a simple to use interface full of flexibility and deep sound design potential.
Inspired by the world of film trailers and cinematic scores, Shadow Drones brings together an impressive array of haunting, otherworldly drones and vast, evolving soundscapes perfect for building tension, atmosphere, and emotional depth. Whether you’re scoring a dramatic action sequence, a psychological thriller, or a dark sci-fi scene, Shadow Drones offers the perfect sonic foundation. Featuring over 400 cinematic drone sounds that span a wide spectrum of tonal textures, from deep, rumbling lows to high, ethereal frequencies, this library offers everything you need to create the ideal atmospheric tension. It also includes seamless soundscapes designed for versatility, built as construction kits that can be flexed into single chromatic instruments.
Shadow Drones is powered by Native Instruments’ Kontakt Engine, ensuring smooth playback, intuitive manipulation, and dynamic layering of sounds. Sounds are accessed via Kontakt instruments (.nki), and the library includes 24 Kontakt formatted instruments, each labeled by content type and consisting of multiple samples in a construction kit format. The simple and intelligent content organization system expedites content navigation, helping you find the sound you are looking for.
Unlock deep creative potential with key features like the Stretch Mode. Switching to Stretch Mode allows you to access up to 426 single sample instruments by instantly reassigning any sample in the instrument to span across the entire key range. This moves the sample’s fundamental to the sounding note on the keyboard, providing a chromatic instrument via sample stretching which is very useful for creating shifting pitch and timbres. Easily organize your workflow with the built-in Favorites feature, allowing you to quickly find and remember your favorite audio samples, marked by an orange heart and a red key on the keymap.
The user interface provides extensive control with multiple global effects knobs and sliders. Dive into deep sound design with access to parameters like Sample Start, Pan, Volume, and the Pitch Knob. Apply an Attack/Release Volume Envelope and utilize the Direction (Reverse) mode for unique playback effects. Control overall sound character with Filters (Lo Cut / Hi Cut) and apply modulation using the LFO with adjustable shape, speed, intensity, and fade in. The Edit All Samples (Global Mode) allows parameters to be applied to all samples simultaneously. Further sculpt your sounds with two dynamic Effects modules (FX1/FX2) featuring Chorus, Delay, Flanger, Phaser, Plate, Psyche Delay, Raum, Replica, and Twin, applicable globally or individually. Master your output using the powerful Driver (compression, saturation, distortion) and Sweetener (EQ, saturation, transient enhancement, stereo imaging) mastering effects. You can even assign MIDI controller knobs to control pitch and FX in real-time.
