The instrument we are discussing is the Steinway* D-274, one of the world's most popular instruments of its kind and the first choice in concert halls around the world. At 274 centimeters long, this magnificent and one-of-a-kind behemoth is a marvel of engineering and craftsmanship, involving 12,000 individual parts assembled with extreme care. The best place to capture it is in the main room of Galaxy Studios - Superior Drummer 3's core library and the(sth. or sb) elseSeveral Toontrack libraries were recorded in this room. It covers 330 square meters, reaches an astonishingly high floor-to-ceiling height, and has an ambience tailored for natural but controlled reverberation. In the final product, these microphones are used to provide you with mix presets that showcase instruments in a rich variety of microphone configurations and timbres.
