While most of today's products are manufactured in large factories overseas with the sole purpose of maximizing profits by cutting corners and using the cheapest components, Black Box Analog Design does things differently.

In fact, we take a different approach to most things. We are not interested in creating clones of old equipment or making derivatives of popular equipment. We're interested in creating devices that do things that haven't been done before, fulfill needs we encounter in the studio, and take a new approach to problem solving or design.

We didn't start out as device designers. We came from the studio and started fiddling with our own circuits years ago to solve some problems we were having. Because we come from an audio engineering background, rather than a circuit design background, we are not constrained by standard designs or ideas of what we "should" be doing. Instead, we let our ears guide us in the right direction.

Every part of all our analog circuits is hand assembled and each component is carefully and precisely matched. We use genuine high voltage linear power supplies, custom wound transformers, and the highest quality components.

This old-school method of creation is labor intensive and costly, but the end result is a piece of art that looks, feels, and sounds incredible!

Outside of Black Box, Eric is a platinum mixer, engineer and producer who has worked with world-class artists such as Katy Perry, Pharrell, Lil Wayne, etc. Robert is an award-winning film mixer and engineer with a background in satellite and microwave communications.
