Welcome to the soundset of the semi-modular synthesizer Behrinqer Edqe.
"Techno Generator" is a collection of 50 patches: 15 Bass, 15 Leads, 15 Percussion and 5 Generation patches.

The soundset also includes 24/41000 WAV samples with BPM and scale information. You can use them as they are, or feel free to resample, editing and applying effects. These samples provide versatile materials for your experiments.

Although the title includes "Techno", the patch can be used for a variety of genres. Techno is just about the first thing that comes to mind when I tweak and listen to EDGE. Analog glam, experimental sounds, huge basses, vivid leads, weird sequences, electronic drums, and generative patches not only work well in Techno, they'll adorn any track that needs decent sound design.

The sound set is presented in PDF format. Each page contains annotations explaining how the patches work, the parameters worth adjusting during playback, and how to develop the tone during a performance. If you consciously go through all the settings and try out what is mentioned in the notes, you will learn a lot about the synthesizer and discover its true depth. In

To recreate these patches, you will need up to 5 patch lines.

Tuning is an important part of the final result, but it's hard to describe the settings for the oscillator frequency and sequencer knobs because they are so small that even tiny movements can change the pitch. I've tried to plot these settings as accurately as possible (the way they play in the audio example), but don't get frustrated if you can't reproduce the same melody. It may take you some time to capture the same melody, or you can use these settings as a starting point for your own melody or percussion line.

I use an external USB clock from Ableton Live. The TEMPO knob doesn't work when using an external clock, so I left its value at some default position. Only the speed split (SCALE) changes the playback. If you are using EDGE as your master clock device, change TEMPO to your liking.

Generated patches (45-50) are made using the internal clock.

These patches create highly experimental and non-repetitive sounds with a certain degree of randomness. Their "tearing" motion prevents synchronization with external tracks. However, this glitchy and unpredictable nature is not a disadvantage and can enhance any music where sound design is a key element. Experiment with reverb or delay.
Note that these patches are designed for internal clocks only and may not work properly when connected to an external clock via the ADV/CLOCK input.
